Sorry to hear the bad news Jes. Your a good person, and good things happen to good people. I'm sure you'll be back at a new job soon.

i have been searching for a job since march, and finally got one waiting tables at a pool hall.
they fired me today due to "pushing" someone that i asked to excuse me.
then i was told that my "attitude" was a reason.

do you think that you are easy to get along with?
are you judgemental?
are you positive?
I'm a Libra..that answer your question Min?
When Tink ask's me for a simple answer to a simple question I start with a big detailed answer...she soon cuts me off....LOL
I'm very technically oriented...(Mechanical Engineering profession). Bad speller. One of the "good guys"...at least I try aweful hard to be.

when i was a jw kid, one of the ways we amused ourselves at assemblies, conventions, and the local kh was to play "spot the celebrity".
fortunately for us, the joyful throngs of jehovah's people were brimming with celebrity look-alikes, so we were able to enjoy many upbuilding sessions of "spot the celebrity".
here are some celebrities i have spotted on jwd.
LucidSky....You really are Donny aren't you...admit it!!!!....LMAO!!!!

fun things for us apostates to do at the kh..
pull aside an unruly child and say: "if you're bad in here, you'll go to die at armageddon.".
put stray dogs in library.
Put gooey, sticky candy in Contribution Box
Put slips of paper with "I want my money back!!!" written on them in the Contribution Box
Put up a "Bingo Tonight" Ad out in front of the KH
Eat a bowl of beans with broccoli and coliflower before the meeting
(This is fun) Thanks for starting it WT!!!

my daughter would be turning 13 tomorrow, if she were still alive.
it's been nearly 5 years since her death, and yet the pain and the sense of incalculable loss is still there.
her birthday is one of the hardest times of the year - one where the hurt really manifests itself - we should have been having a big party, but all we have to remember her by is a hard cold lump of stone with her name on it.

My heart goes out to you and your family Stephanus. I am sorry to here that you had such a great lose.

to be able to properly "encourage one another, more so as you behold the end drawing near", we as jw's were instructed to do the following: .
(1) stay after the meeting for "upbuilding association", and .
(2) rather than talk about mundane things of life, discuss the finer points of the meeting just held.
Gopher, your observation is correct. I've been all over in many parts of the US, Canada, and Europe and found that after assemblies, meetings, and during field service that conversations are almost always about sports, clothes, movies, tv programs, and very rarely about spiritual topics. Minimus is right. A large majority also come late and leave early, just going thru the motions, so to speak.

Hi Andee...Tink and I loved this thread. We downloaded Melonies song from KaZaA. Tink was painting a rose and singing the song while it was playing and our parrot "Rascal" was bobbing up and down and singing away...LOL
When that song came out I was 16 and Tink was the same age as you were. A local radio station DJ had a dispute with the station in our city and he locked himself in the booth and played the song over and over again with no breaks for two days. I don't remember what ended up happening with his "beef" with the station, but I could never stand listening to it for quite a while...LOL
My favorite car singing song was the Zombies..."Time of the Season"...Good tune...great organ and drums...but I felt the lyrics were alittle too provocative to post. You know when we were kids the only ones who listened to the lyrics were our parents...LOL
Thanks Again

i'm pretty sure i'm right about this.
i haven't been in the org for a long time, but it seems that whenever someone sneezes, you are not supposed to say "bless you" ///// why is this so??
i personaly don't see anything wrong w/saying bless you !
I also heard the Heart stopping explaination. Who knows?
Does anyone remember the Pink Panther movie where Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) was in the back of a patrol car and had a cold and sneezed. The driver said Gesundheit and Clouseau said...YES..YES...I KNOW THAT!!!....thinking the driver said..goes-in tight...LOL

as a whole, i believe most witnesses to be pretty good people.
misguided, sure, but overall, decent people.. what i want are opinions on how good they actually are.
for example, i went to a non-denonimational church recently.
Back in Ct where I was from, there were 9 cases of adultery including my situation with my EX. All were Elders, MS's and Pioneers. The WT conductors daughter who pioneered had a child out of wed-lock. All within a years time. That was a major reason for me coming to the south. When I did...I found it to be just as bad here.
So are JW's more chaste...? I tend to think not.
